The Comets boys cross country team placed fifth Saturday at the OHSAA district championships at Lorain County Community College. Junior Josh Hill led the way with a second place finish and a time of 16:03, qualifying for the regional championships next Saturday at Boardman. Also qualifying was sophomore Matthew Kirsch, who placed 14th with a time of 17:19. Also running well was freshman Jacob Raesler, who ran a time of 18:04 and was the top finishing freshman in the district. Sophomore Ethan Barnes was next with a time of 18:14 and freshman Mario Benjamin rounded out the top five with a time of 18:29. Benjamin was the second-fastest freshman in the District, right behind Raesler.
