Northern Kentucky University Norse has just gained one of the green and gold’s best.
Ally Perkins signed a letter of intent Wednesday to play soccer for the Norse, an NCAA Division I team in the Horizon League.
A four-year letter-winner in girls soccer for Amherst, Perkins completed her career with 51 goals and 24 assists.
She had a very decorated career on and off of the field. She was First Team All-Lorain County four times, First Team All-Southwestern Conference three times, First Team All-Greater Cleveland in her junior and senior years, Team MVP her junior and senior years, Second Team All-Ohio as a junior, First Team All-Ohio as a senior, and she was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association All-Central Region Team.
Further, as a senior she was the Lorain County Coaches Player of the Year, Southwestern Conference Player of the Year, and Academic All-Ohio.
In addition to her time with the Comets, Perkins has been involved with International Soccer Club under coaches Keri Sarver and Popovic Zdrovko.
Perkins thanks her parents, Jeff and Sherry; grandprents (Sklarek/Perkins); high school coaches Gary Gonzalez and Ivan Jackson; Excalibur Club (Walter Schlothauer); Sarver and Zdrovko; and Mike Mattei.
“All of these people have been there, at one point or another, to support me and believe in me. They have all pushed me to be the absolute best I can be… and for that, I am thankful,” she said.
