The Amherst Junior High cross country teams competed Saturday at the Cloverleaf Invitational and many runners had their best races of the season.
Seventh-grader Kaylee Haff was the number one runner for the girls, dropping 46 seconds from her previous best and finishing 32nd of 137 runners.
She was followed by Marissa Anaya, Megan Sayre, Hannah Aschemeier, and Amara Taliano.
In the open race, Aliyha Vidovich had the biggest improvement of the day, cutting nearly two minutes from her previous time. The girls placed 17th of 21 teams.
Matthew Kirsch led the boys and finished 10th of 138 runners.
Other scorers for the Comets were Ethan London, Ethan Barnes, Gabe DelValle, and Brent Baumgartner.
In the open race, Nick Anadiotis has the biggest improvement for the boys, dropping 33 seconds from his previous time as the boys placed 8th of 20 teams.
The Comets will go head-to-head with rival Avon Lake on Thursday.
