A scoreless tie at halftime gave way last Wednesday to a 3-1 late Olmsted Falls win in boys soccer action at Amherst.
The Bulldogs’ Kevin Lemin opened the scoring with a fantastic strike from 35 yards out just over a minute into the second half.
Chase Fernkorn and Jake Lindley added two more Olmsted Falls goal in the next 15 minutes.
Amherst Steele got on the board with less than a minute to go in the game on a corner kick — Michael Rakar with the assist and Colin O’Connor with the goal.
Comets goalkeeper Ryan Rigsby had five saves on the night and Bulldogs goalie Austin Mitchell had one.
The OF boys outpaced Amherst in all the key areas, taking 12 shots on goal to the Comets’ eight; making seven corner kicks to Amherst’s four; and netting 13 fouls to Amherst’s 16.
The Bulldogs also won in junior varsity action with a 3-0 final.
