GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Potyrala hits her stride to lead Comets

Senior Kalyn Potyrala against led the Comets varsity girls cross country team Saturday, finishing 13th at the Madison Invitational.

With a time of 20:02, she led Amherst to a third place finish in the 16-team field.

Sophomore Kaylee Haff (14th, 20:18) ran her career best time to finish second for Amherst. She was followed by Cassidy Hill (20th, 20:39), Kayla Snowden (22th, 20:53), Leah Gerke (24th, 21:01), Marisa Del Valle (28th, 21:11), Antonia Monteleone (43th, 21:31), and Emily Hughes (83th, 23:12).

The junior varsity girls won their race at Madison as five Comets placed in the top 10.

They were led by junior Liah Miller (4th, 23:19), followed by Angelina Williams (5th, 23:24), Marissa Anaya (7th, 23:27), Courtney Cogdell (9th, 23:32), and Emma Sekerak (10th, 23:36). Also running for the Comet Junior Varsity were Kyleigh Osko (12th, 23:40), Montana Griffiths (13th, 23:43), Veronica Janosik (19th, 24:21), Kathleeen Kirsch (22th, 24:34), Estella Woodworth (25th,24:51), Mariana Gilles (29th, 25:11), Hannah Farley (41th, 25:44), Lauren Feakins (55th, 27:46), and McKenna Kessler (59th, 28:12).
