Lexy Alston, on a run by Taylor Pogachar, found the back of the goal to put Amherst up 1-0 over Midview in girls varsity soccer action on Aug. 29.
The Comets dominated their Southwestern Conference rivals the first half with 10 shots, nine of them on goal, while preventing a single shot from being fired by the Middies.
The Pogachar-Alston connection came just minutes after the halftime break. The Comets went on to finish with 22 shots, 14 on net, allowing only five the other direction.
On defense, Pogachar, Alexis Pullin, Kamryn Dziak, Hannah Aschemeier and Cameron Dumais turned away late Middies pressure. Amherst goalkeeper Ainsley Steele preserved her fourth straight shutout.
The Lady Comets are now 4-1 and 3-0 in SWC play and return to action Wednesday, Sept. 5 at Berea-Midpark.
