Nahorn demonstrates unparalleled commitment

To the editor:

This is the first time I have written a letter of endorsement for a local political candidate. Over the past few years, I have become acquainted with Matt Nahorn, as well as his family. I have no doubt that the constituents of the 4th Ward would be well represented by his election to Amherst city council.

As a lifelong resident of Amherst, Matt Nahorn has demonstrated his unparalleled dedication and commitment to our community. He holds a B.A. in environmental studies from Oberlin College, has written research studies on local issues, has participated in river clean up events, and assumed responsibility for the upkeep of the Old Spring historic site. He reaches out to community members in his role as founder of the New Indian Ridge Museum, works tirelessly to keep citizens aware of community events, and promotes local businesses by assisting in restoration, improvement, and research. He is a frequent public speaker and contributor on historical and environmental issues.

Matt Nahorn’s impressive background, historical perspective, record of volunteerism, and community involvement will allow him to maintain a balance between continued growth without sacrificing Amherst’s rich traditions, history, and values. He is a candidate with integrity, intelligence, insight, and initiative. I urge you to cast your vote for Matt Nahorn, candidate for Amherst city council’s 4th Ward.
