Issue 21 brings back $14M

To the editor:

We, as a community, have a great opportunity with Issue 21. We have a chance to bring $14 million of state money back to Amherst to help build a new PK-3 elementary school. Plans also include upgrades to Nord and the high school heating and cooling systems. The $14 million in state funding represents 45 percent of the total cost.

In addition, by consolidating from five to four buildings, we will save $500,000 in operating and maintenance expenses. This will help keep our property taxes among the lowest in Lorain County over the long term.

Please join me in voting for Issue 21. It saves money and won’t raise taxes. Go Comets!
