The Silent Witness exhibit stands in the main lobby of Steele High School, remembering the lives of 38 Lorain County women whose lives were cut short by domestic violence. Of the many wooden silhouettes on display, these five pay tribute to Kimberly Dove of Grafton, killed March 7, 2005, when she was shot int he back by her boyfriend; Lauren Moore of Elyria, killed May 30, 2013, due to blunt force trauma to the head and neck; Gloria Svec, killed Nov. 6, 2015, of gunshot wounds; Giovanni Banks of Elyria, killed March 21, 1997, after being stabbed 13 times; and Anita Arquillo of Lorain, killed Feb. 22, 1989, allegedly gunned down by a man who was later found not guilty.
