After weeks of setbacks, paving is set to begin Monday on the far northern end of Rt. 58 inside the Amherst city limits.
The construction zone will stretch between North Ridge and Cooper Foster Park roads with crews working from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The Ohio Department of Transportation project includes drainage structure removal and replacements, concrete joint repairs, pavement repairs, planing, installation of loop detectors, and resurfacing.
The only daytime lane closures planned at this time will be for joint repairs due to the time the concrete will need to cure.
Expect to see construction equipment staged at the infield area of the Rt. 2 westbound exit ramp. Heavy work vehicles will enter the ramp from that area.
“As you are aware, this is a very busy stretch of St. Rt. 58 so people can expect delays,” wrote ODOT project manager Patrick Pijor in a memo to mayor David Taylor’s office.
