The names of those killed in the Sept. 11 terror attacks 15 years ago made the stripes of a ceremonial flag hoisted Friday above the 9/11 monument at the Lorain County JVS. Students in the vocational school’s public safety program raised the flag just after a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m., the time the first airliner hit the World Trade Center in New York in 2001. Wellington fire chief Mike Wetherbee and assistant chief Bill Brown, along with Lorain County sheriff’s deputy Tony Pluta, were honored guests at the observance. A memorial wreath was placed by students at the base of a JVS monument made from a WTC beam.
