Wear a helmet. Use the proper hand signals. Keep an eye out for cars. Use the roadway safely — that was the message Saturday when Amherst police Sgt. Jacob Perez, Ptl. Jason Nahm, and volunteers from Target gathered at Steele High School for their annual Safety Awareness Day and Bicycle Rodeo. The school’s south parking lot was transformed into obstacle courses for young riders to practice their skills. There were also snacks and bounce-houses!
