Celebrating 700 bags full of hope

Olivia Sliman shows just how much was collected — a small portion, at least — in the 5th Annual Sharing Clothes community drive for the needy. In her most successful collection yet, Sliman received 700 bags of donated clothing in three months. They were distributed to 15 local organizations, including May Dugan Shelter, Haven Center, Needs Cleveland, Providence House, Vietnam Vets, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, Easter Seals, and more. Items were also hand delivered to El Salvador by the St. Joe’s Mission Team. Clothing was collected at the Amherst Public Library, the Amherst Schools, St. Joseph Parish and School, Nativity Parish, Family Fellowship Church, and Curves in Elyria. “I’d like to thank every person to donated for making a difference,” Sliman said.
