Thespians bound for ‘Skid Row’ and Playhouse Square

The MLS Theatre Company is all smiles after performing “Skid Row,” a musical number from the upcoming production of “Little Shop of Horrors,” for the Amherst board of education. March is Theater in Our Schools Mont, which advisor Valerie Farschman said helps promote the value of theater in education.

Amherst Steele High School is the home of award-winning Troupe 1422 of the International Thespian Society. It is also one of 19 schools vying for the Dazzle Awards, which will be presented at 7:30 p.m. May 21 at the Connor Palace Theatre, Playhouse Square. Students are aiming for the Joey Awards in New York City.
