Police reports: Drunk driving, assault, and explicit photos


• Jan. 29 at 4:30 p.m.: Police investigated a domestic dispute on Middle Ridge Road between a woman with mental illness and a man who was intoxicated.

• Jan. 29 at 5:03 p.m.: A 42-year-old Lorain woman said she lost her credit card in Amherst and transactions of more than $450 were made on it.

• Jan. 30 at 2:54 p.m.: Officers investigated a domestic dispute on Woodhaven Drive between a couple with a one-month-old child. The boyfriend said that after dating the girlfriend for a year he discovered she was still legally married.

• Feb. 1 at 12:39 a.m.: Ian Welch, 32, of Lorain, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, BAC over .170, weaving course, and marked lanes.

• Feb. 1 at 7:01 p.m.: A woman said she was pushed to the ground from behind by an assailant in the area of Giant Eagle on Kresge Drive. The suspect was described as a black man wearing a black hoodie and jeans. The woman went to Mercy Regional Medical Center.

• Feb. 2, time undisclosed by police: An attempted burglary was investigated on Flamingo Avenue. A small corner of a US Bank card was located in the door jamb lock mechanism. A Visa card was located under the deck directly beneath the door.

• Feb. 2 at 12:26 p.m.: A woman said three of her checks were forged and cashed for a total of $520 at a US Bank.

• Feb. 2 at 12:38 p.m.: A woman told officers she was contacted by Capital One about attempts to fraudulently open a credit card account in her name.

• Feb. 2 at 3:44 p.m.: Several 911 hang-up calls were traced to the area of the Steele High School south parking lot on Washington Avenue. A report said the calls were made by children riding a school bus. Noise and laughter could be heard on the calls and helped identify their origin.

• Feb. 2 at 7:40 p.m.: Linda Harrell, 42, of Lorain, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of a Schedule IV drug, theft, possession of criminal tools, and possession of paraphernalia. A report said she and a 53-year-old Lorain man allegedly stole a cart full of groceries from Giant Eagle and were frantically loading their vehicle. Harrell was found but the man fled.

• Feb. 4 at 8:48 a.m.: A 17-year-old girl may have been sending explicit photos of herself to several juvenile and adult males. Police responded to Pine Crest Apartments. Information was forwarded to the detective bureau for further investigation.

• Feb. 4 at 1:27 p.m.: A woman reported her ex-boyfriend violated a civil protection order. She also reported an incident of domestic violence.

• Feb. 4 at 5:24 p.m.: Elizabeth Board, 45, of Lorain, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, state refusal, and open container. She was found when police responded to a complaint of a woman passed out or sleeping at the wheel at Speedway on Rt. 58.

• Feb. 6 at 8:28 a.m.: Curtis Fraise, 32, of Lorain, was arrested on a warrant for kidnapping through the Lorain police department.

• Feb. 7 at 1:33 a.m.: Kelly Wilson, 26, of Wellington, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, BAC over .170, weaving course, and marked lanes.
