AMHERST POLICE REPORTS


• May 18 at 5:28 p.m.: Trisha Morrow, 39, of Lorain, was charged with leaving the scene of a crash, obstructing official business, and failure to control a vehicle. Police found her Toyota Matrix in the roadway, empty, near Cleveland Avenue and Washington Street. They found Morrow near the Amherst VFW.

• May 18 at 11:47 p.m.: Officers investigated a domestic dispute on Riviera Avenue. Though the parties told police they were fighting over marijuana, there were no charges.

• May 19 at 12:18 a.m.: A 17-year-old was cited for unruliness on Hazel Street.

• May 19 at 1:46 a.m.: Joel Vega, 33, of Lorain, was arrested on a felony warrant through the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.

• May 20 at 4:35 p.m.: Video games were reported stolen by an employee at Pierre Foods, Cooper Foster Park Road.

• May 24 at 2:52 a.m.: Jeffrey Green, 34, of Lorain, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and weaving. He was stopped by police on Park Avenue.

• May 24 at 7:38 p.m.: Alexis Cotto, 27, of Lorain, was arrested on a warrant through the Sheffield police department.

• May 25 at 6:15 p.m.: Celina Cruz, 26, of Lorain, was arrested on a warrant through the Sheffield police department.

• May 26 at 1 a.m.: Alex Baker, 18, of Amherst, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• May 28 at 12:31 a.m.: Michael Ouellet, 22, of Lorain, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, weaving, and texting while driving. He was stopped on North Ridge Road.

• June 1 at 3:14 p.m.: Michael Croston, 22, of Lorain, was charged with robbery (a third-degree felony) and obstructing official business. Security at Target on Oak Point Road called police to report a theft in progress and said Croston struggled when guards confronted him. He broke free, ran to a vehicle, and left the scene. When police found his vehicle, it led to a brief foot chase.

• June 1 at 7:30 p.m.: Stanley Collins, 54, of Lorain, was charged with criminal trespassing. Police were called to Speedway on North Leavitt Road, where Collins was allegedly standing outside the gas station asking patrons for money and refusing to leave.

• June 3 at 1:42 a.m.: Several juvenile girls from Amherst and Lorain were cited with violating curfew at Motel 6, where they were renting a room. One 17-year-old from Amherst was cited with underage possession of alcohol, obstructing official business, and disorderly conduct.

• June 3 at 10:04 a.m.: A 96-year-old woman and her caregiver reported a case of credit card theft and unauthorized charges.
