• Sept. 17, time undisclosed by police: A 15-year-old Amherst girl was charged with illegal conveyance or possession of a deadly weapon in a school zone. Police said the girl had a folding knife at Amherst Steele High School.

• Sept. 17 at 10:37 a.m.: Donald Hans II, 34, of Lorain, was arrested on a warrant through Lorain County 911 for contempt of court on an original charge of dangerous drugs.

• Sept. 17 at 12:33 p.m.: Officers conducted a house check on Crownhill Avenue and found an opened garage door and back door that appeared to have been broken into.

• Sept. 17 at 12:54 p.m.: A woman reported her personal information was fraudulently used to open a credit card account.

• Sept. 17 at 5:51 p.m.: About $710 in cash was reported missing from a Princeton Avenue home.

• Sept. 18 at 5:08 p.m.: Michelle Cantwell, 49, of Lorain, was charged with theft, criminal tools, criminal damaging, and vandalism. The charges arose from a theft complaint at Target.

• Sept. 18 at 7:24 p.m.: Several valuable items and a significant amount of money were reported stolen from a Sleepy Hollow Drive home.

• Sept. 19 at 10:53 p.m.: A 24-year-old woman overdosed at Days Inn. Police said she was not breathing and her face had turned blue from lack of oxygen. She was revived with naloxone. A 25-year-old man from Lorain will face charges of heroin possession and tampering with evidence that will be presented to a grand jury, according to police. Ricky Londo, 25, of Lorain, was arrested on a warrant through the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office for child support.

• Sept. 19 at 8:57 a.m.: Jefferrey Hall, 43, of Elyria, was charged with two counts of drug abuse instruments. He was located in a vehicle that had been reported stolen and was released to Elyria police for charges regarding their investigation.

• Sept. 20, time undisclosed by police: A menacing complaint at Steele High School led to an investigation.

• Sept. 22 at 3:06 a.m.: Joseph Smink, 27, of Lorain, was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

• Sept. 22 at 11:11 a.m.: Chad Layne, 35, of Birmingham, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to control.

• Sept. 23 at 1:50 p.m.: A belated theft complaint was made on Cooper Foster Park Road. After an investigation, a suspect was identified and warrants were requested from the court.

• Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m.: Officers responded to a man with a suspected broken jaw at Motel 6. He was taken to Mercy Health Lorain Hospital.
