POLICE REPORTS


• Aug. 14 at 1:47 a.m.: Brittany Pietsch, 20, of Amherst, was charged with possession of cocaine, underage consumption, possession of marijuana, and two counts of drug paraphernalia. Christina Cox, 18, of Lorain, was charged with underage consumption and open container. Robert Johnson, 26, of Vermilion, was charged with open container and littering from a motor vehicle. The charges were made during a traffic stop on Kresge Drive.

• Aug. 16 at 2:11 a.m.: Crag Ripley, 25, of Lakewood, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and driving the wrong way on a one-way street. He was stopped for traveling the wrong direction on Park Avenue.

• Aug. 16 at 11:49 p.m.: Tiffany White, 27, of Lorain, was arrested on a contempt of court warrant through the Sheffield police. Chazaray Sutton, 24, of Cleveland, was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of heroin, and drug paraphernalia. Sutton was also charged Aug. 23 with a temporary protection order violation in Amherst.

• Aug. 17 at 1:22 a.m.: Police intervened in a domestic dispute on Hickory Hollow Court.

• Aug. 17 at 10:21 a.m.: A furnace, hot water tank, and central air unit were reported stolen from a Park Avenue residence.

• Aug. 18 at 7:15 p.m.: Police were called to the area of Crosse Avenue and Hazel Street for reports of a man urinating in the middle of the street. Dean Hill, 56, of Amherst, was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication.

• Aug. 19 at 2:58 a.m.: David West, 33, of Elyria, was charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing official business, and resisting arrest during a traffic stop for failure to use a turn signal. West, who was stopped at Motel 6, led police on a short foot chase but was caught. The owner of the vehicle, Shacha Louvenia Hill, 22, of Cleveland, was charged with wrongful entrustment of a motor vehicle.

• Aug. 19 at 1:06 p.m.: A theft was reported at a North Ridge Road residence.

• Aug. 20 at 9:51 a.m.: Police investigated a missing persons complaint for a 17-year-old Steele High School student.

• Aug. 21 at 4:30 p.m.: Officers investigated thefts by a “high school male” at Target based on surveillance video.

• Aug. 23 at 12:26 a.m.: Adam Oneil, 35, of Amherst, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, state refusal, and weaving.

• Aug. 23 at 1:50 a.m.: John Koba, 45, of Amherst, was charged with domestic violence after police responded to a complaint on Rainbow Drive.

• Aug. 23 at 9:01 a.m.: A man is suspected of stealing $30 in instant lottery tickets from Sunoco/Convenient Food Mart Express on Rt. 58.

• Aug. 23 at 9:19 p.m.: John Gorbey, 40, of Lorain, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated after a motorist on Rt. 2 called police to report a Cadillac weaving dramatically.

• Aug. 24 at 10:51 a.m.: A 34-year-old Oberlin man was spotted taking items from a clothing donation box near Tractor Supply Company, then allegedly stealing items Pat Catan’s, according to an off-duty Wakeman police officer. Pat Catan’s declined to press charges.

• Aug. 24 at 3:06 p.m.: Victorious Allah, 48, of Elyria, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

• Aug. 25 at 5:31 p.m.: Bruce Jacobs, 32, of Sheffield Lake, was arrested on a warrant for unpaid parking tickets.

• Aug. 25 at 10:37 p.m.: Derek Sanders, 18, of Oberlin, was charged in connection to thefts from Dad’s Sunoco on Rt. 58.

• Aug. 26 at 3:53 p.m.: Officers were called to the area of Hamilton Street and Milan Avenue for a fight in progress. Mari Bartlett, 20, of Lorain, was charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

• Aug. 26 at 10:13 p.m.: Police responded to a fight between four women outside Ziggy’s Bar on Park Avenue. Kourtney Youngless, 38, of Amherst, was charged with assault, disturbing the peace, open container, and disorderly conduct.

• Aug. 27 at 2 p.m.: A 15-year-old Lorain girl was cited with theft and unruliness. She was one of three suspects in a reported theft.
