BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Hill, Kirsch zoom at regionals


Sophomore Matthew Kirsch ended his season Saturday after a great showing at regionals.

Junior Josh Hill and sophomore Matthew Kirsch competed in the OHSAA regional cross country championships on Saturday at Boardman High School. Hill had an incredible race and placed second out of 187 runners with a time of 15:49.4, one of the 10 fastest times ever ran on this course. His second place finish means that he has qualified for the state championships for the second time. He will run at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hebron National Trails Raceway Park. Kirsch also had a great race, finishing in 17:13.02 and placing 89th place.
