BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: 2nd place for Hill

Steele junior Josh Hill posts an outstanding run, placing second among a field of 377 runners at the Spartan Invitational.

Leading the Amherst boys to a 21st place finish among 44 teams this weekend was junior Josh Hill.

He placed second of 377 runners with a time of 15:59.3 at the Boardman Spartan Invitational.

Finishing together were Matthew Kirsch and Devin Baumgartner with 135th and 136th places and times of 18:10.

Sophomore Gabe DelValle was next with a time of 18:27 and a 161st place finish. Rounding out the top five scoring places was freshman Mario Benjamin with a 182nd place finish and a time of 18:38.

The junior varsity team was led by freshman Cael Walker, who placed 83rd out of 333 runners in a time of 19:30.

The boys will race again Saturday at the Strongsville Invitational at 10 a.m.
