Perez, Turner lead AJHS runners


The Amherst Junior High cross country team kicked off its season Monday at the Keystone Icebreaker.

Jace Perez led the boys, finishing 15th of 175 runners. Other scorers for the Comets were Sebastian Pecora, Nick Glahn, Sebastian Calin, and Seyveon Plaza. The boys placed ninth of 14 teams.

For the girls, Catherine Turner finished fourth of 141 runners, closely followed by teammate Sierra Dorobek in 10th place.

Aubri Amon, Jordyn Bena, and Aurora Wilson also scored, helping the girls to a third place finish out of 10 teams.

The Comets will be back in action Saturday at the Southwestern Conference Preview.
