Elizabeth Flynn put the nail in the Comets’ coffin Wednesday with a long bomb jump shot at the buzzer. After Amherst led for three solid quarters, the Avon shooter gave the Eagles a 35-33 victory in the Division I district semifinals, stunning the crowd. Amherst had entered the game as the top seed but was knocked out of championship contention, settling for a 19-5 record.
