INDOOR TRACK: Two new records set by Comets at Oberlin

The Comets indoor track and field team competed Sunday at Oberlin College.

Girls placing for Amherst included:

• Taylor Hooks, Gracen Siegenthaler, Audrey Fayer, and Brooke Armbruster, first place in the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:50.33.

• Taylor Hooks, second place in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.98 seconds.

• Sydney Walker, third place in the pole vault at 9 feet 6 inches, setting a new indoor school record.

Boys placing for Amherst included:

• Jaret Prete, first place in the weight throw at 47 feet 8.25 inches, setting a new indoor school record.

• Scott Kelly, Cameron Shawver, Ryan Sturgeon, and Devin Baumgartner, first place in the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:40.46.

• Max Reed, Dominic Deshuk, Michael Shorts, and Ben Yuhasz, second place in the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:40.49.

• Josh Hill, Bradley Kirsch, Andrew Vontell, and Tyler Kovach, second place in the 4×800 relay with a time of 9:12.37.

• Cameron Shawver, second place in the 400 meters with a time of 55.31.

• Erik Henderson, third place in the pole vault with a height of 10 feet 6 inches.

The Comets compete again Friday at Spire and Saturday at Oberlin College.
