INDOOR TRACK: Girls finish big in 4×800, two new records set

Kalyn Potyrala, Cara Giannuzzi, Leah Johnson, and Alicia DelValle set the 4×800 meter relay on fire Saturday in the Comets’ first indoor track meet of the season.

They ran a 10:34.69 race to finish in first place at Kent State University.

Other girls placers included:

• Faith Rico, second in the high jump at 5 feet 1 inch.

• Taylor Hooks, second in the 60 meters in 7.97 seconds, setting a new school record.

• Hooks, Gracen Siegenthaler, Audrey Fayer, and Brooke Armbruster in fifth place in the 4×200 race with a time of 1:52.82.

• Hooks, fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 25.98, a new school record.

Placing for the boys were:

• Jaret Prete, third in the weight throw with a distance of 42 feet 1 inch.

• Josh Hill, third in the 1,600 meters with a time of 4:36.10.

The Comets compete again this Sunday at Oberlin College.
