Comets fans are hoping the heartbreaking 84-69 loss Friday to North Ridgeville in the season opener isn’t an indication of how Amherst will fare this winter. The Rangers opened strong, topping the Comets boys by seven by the end of the first quarter and nearly lapping them at 40-21 by the half. The Southwestern Conference rival kept a healthy 25-point lead over Amherst going into the final period.
