Six Falcons signed letters of intent Wednesday to take their athletic skills to the next level.
Firelands’ Brylee Jones, Samantha Hribal, Jacob Grasso, Robby Becker, Ty Wilson, and Cole Ference were recognized at the ceremony for their outstanding work as they prepare for college.
Jones will take her soccer skills to Malone University and Hribal will attend the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford to play softball.
Grasso and Becker plan to join the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets football team. Wilson will play football at Otterbein University and Ference will take his football skills to Heidelberg University.
This past year, Ference received First Team All-Patriot Athletic Conference, First Team All-Lorain County, and Special Mention All-District. Wilson was a two-year letterman for football and bowling and was part of the Division IV playoff-qualifying football team.
Becker earned First Team All-PAC, First Team All-Lorain County, County Defensive Back of the Year, and Second Team All-District honors and Grasso received the PAC Lineman of the Year Award, First Team All-PAC, First Team All-County, First Team All-District, Second Team All-Ohio, and was named the Lorain County Lombardi Award Winner.
Hribal has pitched 114 innings with 153 strikeouts. She also has 30 hits with a .333 batting average. The four-year letterman received First Team All-PAC, Second Team All-County, and Honorable Mention All-District recognition.
Jones is a four-year soccer starter for the Falcons and earned First Team All-PAC, First Team All-County, and First Team All-District honors this past season.
Firelands High School principal Robert Maver said all the athletes have played more than one sport and encouraged the students to follow their unique paths.
