BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Josh Hill advances to Tiffin regionals

The Steele boys cross country team had a great showing Saturday at the district championship at Lorain County Community College.

Freshman Josh Hill braved the stiff winds to earn a 15th place finish with a time of 17:46 and a trip to the regional meet.

Fellow Freshman Devin Baumgartner placed 17th (17:48) to narrowly miss a trip to regionals. Up next for the Comets was Dru Trifiletti with a 34th place finish (18:27), followed by Andrew Vontell (69th place, 19:40), Brandon Fernandez (73rd place, 19:55) and Ben Brogan (91st place, 22:07).

The varsity team placed eighth out of 13 teams.

In the open race, Dylan Beam lead the pack with a time of 20:17. He was followed by Matt Trame (20:33), Alex Reyes (20:34), Pierce Barnes (21:38), and Alex Poalson (22:06).
