To the editor:
In order to keep a community functioning efficiently, people are needed to serve on boards and committees. A cross section of any community should be involved in order for governing to be fair and all residents’ ideas to be represented.
I am a resident of South Amherst and a member of the village council. We have boards, which should be staffed by our residents, which are either short members or in one case, have no members serving. We are all busy and involved in many things, but there must be some residents of South Amherst who can make time to voluntarily serve on boards that do not meet on a regular basis. They will not require much of time and volunteers will be helping to guide the community. Anyone who can make the time, please contact the village hall for information as to the positions available.
