Skeletons, witches, and monsters took to Park Avenue on Sunday afternoon in the Amherst fire department’s annual Halloween parade and costume contest. The historical business district swelled with bystanders eager to see clever costumes, from Edward Scissorhands to Curious George and the Man in the Yellow Hat; Pac-Man ghosts Blinky, Inky, Pinky, Clyde, and Sue; Care Bears; and even Colonel Sanders. The Marching Comets band from Steele High School performed in front of the Amherst Public Library before leading the menagerie through mid-town.
