Athletes of all ages were invited to take part in the 2017 Amherst Running Festival this past Saturday morning at Steele High School. Two kids’ races, one a quarter-mile for fourth-graders and under and another stretching a half-mile for eighth-graders and under, were held on the Richard S. Cooley Track. Afterward, about 100 runners, many from the Comets cross country team, made their way down Washington Street in the annual 5K race.
