Benjamin Woods, a 26-year-old model and actor hailing from Amherst, recently attended the International Modeling and Talent Association convention in Los Angeles.
An alumnus of Baldwin Wallace University who attended Georgetown University for graduate school, Woods always wanted to pursue a career in the spotlight. When his brother passed away, he realized life is short and signed with Pro-Model and Talent Management.
“I knew I would be happy doing it and have moved forward every day and I’m so glad that I did,” he said.
While at IMTA, Woods placed first for on-camera host, third for Male Actor of the Year, and second runner-up in the monologue (cold read) event. He also received several honorable mentions.
Woods recently signs with Unified Management and The Rascals Talent Agency in Los Angeles. He plans to move to the West Coast in the next six months.
“This whole experience for me has been unlike anything I could have imagined. It has had such a positive impact on my life and who I am as a person,” he said. “I feel like I am doing what I was meant to do and being able to share that with the people around me makes me very happy.”
Woods was recently part of a Nike commercial, which was shot in downtown Cleveland and first aired during the Grammys.
