A head-on crash sent a Huntsburg man to the hospital with serious injuries Saturday afternoon.
Michael Shearer, 44, was flown from University Hospital in Amherst to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. He’s listed in serious condition, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said Shearer was sans seat belt behind the wheel of a 2011 Chrysler Sebring and veered left of center around 2:45 p.m. on Middle Ridge Road near Dewey Road in Amherst Township.
The Sebring smashed into a 2012 Ford Escape driven by Hallie Quesenberry, 76, of Elyria.
She was wearing a seat belt, suffering “incapacitating injuries,” and was later listed in stable condition at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.
Drugs and alcohol use are suspected in the crash, troopers said. The incident remains under investigation.
