POLICE REPORTS


• Aug 1 at 12:42 a.m.: A 16-year-old boy admitted stealing an electric shopping cart from Super Kmart on Cooper Foster Park Road and taking it to his Blossom Drive home, a police report said. A store manager declined to press charges.

• Aug. 1 at 7:04 p.m.: A counterfeit $100 bill was passed at Denny’s restaurant on Rt. 58.

• Aug. 2, time undisclosed by police: A 12-year-old boy told police he was bitten by a dog on Milan Avenue while walking home from football practice.

• Aug. 2 at 1:26 a.m.: Ashley Villafanez, 19, of Lorain, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, BAC of .08 percent, underage consumption, open container, and failure to control. A police report said she struck the center concrete median on North Leavitt Road.

• Aug. 3, time undisclosed by police: Alexander Kilgore, age and town of residence undisclosed in a report, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court.

• Aug. 3 at 11:38 a.m.: A suspicious man is suspected of entering a Sharondale Drive home, causing damage, and stealing items.

• Aug. 3 at 5:53 p.m.: Police responded to Pinecrest Apartments for a dispute between a 50-year-old woman and her 73-year-old mother.

• Aug. 6 at 6:08 p.m.: A 61-year-old South Amherst woman who made suicidal comments at Drug Mart on Rt. 58 crashed further down the highway near Rt. 113. She was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center for treatment.

• Aug. 4 at 2:56 a.m.: Kenneth Smith, 48, of Amherst, was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication.

• Aug. 4 at 12:37 p.m.: Motel 6 reported an employee walked off the job and her room cleaning cart could not be found.

• Aug. 5 at 12:18 a.m.: Breylen Vaughn, age and residence unreported, was arrested on three warrants through Cleveland Heights, Berea, and Highland Heights police.

• Aug. 5 at 1:39 p.m.: Officers responded to a domestic dispute on Flamingo Avenue.

• Aug. 5 at 4:35 p.m.: Police responded to a fight in progress in the area of Cooper Foster Park Road and Terra Lane. The 19-year-old and 18-year-old Amherst men involved declined to pursue charges.

• Aug. 5 at 5:32 p.m.: Michelle Gatewood Windom, 61, of Amherst, was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication. She was found lying on the ground in the parking lot of Drug Mart on Rt. 58.

• Aug. 6 at 6:46 a.m.: A knife was found lying in a Jackson Street yard. It was sent for testing “due to the knife’s possibly being used in the commission of a crime,” a report said.

• Aug. 6 at 7:13 a.m.: A 15-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl ran away from their Flamingo Avenue home.

• Aug. 6 at 10:08 a.m.: Two toddlers were spotted walking on Elyria Avenue by themselves. Police discovered they left their nearby home while their father was sleeping.

• Aug. 6 at 9:43 p.m.: Javae Vargovich, 18, of Lorain, was charged with underage drinking, disorderly conduct by intoxication, and open container. Ashley Randolph, 18, of Amherst, was charged with underage consumption.

• Aug. 6 at 10:23 p.m.: Matthew Lawler, 25, of Elyria, was charged with disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct by intoxication. The charges came when police were called to Five Points Pure Gas on Cleveland Avenue.

• Aug. 6 at 11:46 p.m.: Vincent Gump, 21, of Waverly, Ohio, was arrested on a warrant through the Amherst police department for failure to appear in court on an original charge of violating a temporary protection order.

• Aug. 6, time undisclosed by police: Christopher Ehlers, 29, of Elyria, was charged with domestic violence, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace. The charges came after police responded to Amherst Hospital for a report of a man and woman fighting.

• Aug. 7 at 12:05 a.m.: Quan Jackson, 26, of Oberlin, was arrested on a warrant through Lorain County 911 for child support with no bond.

• Aug. 7 at 1:25 a.m.: Timothy Capers was arrested on a warrant through the Amherst police department for contempt of court on a driving under suspension charge.

• Aug. 7 at 3:43 p.m.: Jessica Escobar, 39, of Lorain, was arrested on a warrant through the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. She was also charged with resisting arrest.
