POLICE REPORTS


• July 7 at 8:45 p.m.: A suspect reportedly jumped the counter at Dollar General and stole cigarettes.

• July 7 at 9:45 p.m.: Paul Hill, 22, of Columbus, was arrested on a warrant through the Sheffield police.

• July 7 at 11:43 p.m.: Brothers David Ingalls, 21, and Matthew Ingalls, 19, both of Amherst, were charged with domestic violence following a dispute on Middle Ridge Road. John Ingalls, 45, of Amherst, was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication, misconduct at an emergency, obstructing official business, disturbing the peace, and open container.

• July 8 at 1:38 a.m.: Reno Donofrio, 38, of South Amherst, was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop.

• July 8 at 5 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to Target. James Martin, 22, of Vermilion, was charged with theft. Eliza Johnson, 21, of Vermilion, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug instruments. Cortney Hohla, 26, of Vermilion, was charged with theft. Johnson also had a warrant for drug possession through the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.

• July 8 at 7 p.m.: Police in Highland, Ill., alerted local officers to a missing woman they believed was in Amherst. She was found the next day at a North Main Street home where she is staying with family. Officers said she was not in any danger.

• July 8 at 7:19 p.m.: Officers responded to an unruly juvenile complaint on Hazel Street.

• July 8 at 8:38 p.m.: Police investigated a belated verbal dispute complaint originating from West Street.

• July 9 at 10:26 p.m.: Gregory Riggs, 30, of Lorain, was arrested on a warrant for contempt of court.

• July 9 at 10:55 p.m.: Ember Koemer, 31, of Elyria, was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication at Ziggy’s Pub and Grill.

• July 10 at 2:30 p.m.: A shoplifter escaped Target security, leaving behind his shirt during a struggle.

• July 10 at 11:30 p.m.: Heather Stanaszek, 27, of Lorain, was turned over to Amherst officers by Litchfield police. She was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court.

• July 11 at 10:43 p.m.: Cheikh Gadio, 35, of Columbus, was charged with assault, disturbing the peace, and disorderly conduct. Markus Wright, 29, of Cincinnati, was charged with criminal damaging, criminal mischief, disturbing the peace, and disorderly conduct. The original call to police indicated that Wright may have been stabbed with a knife, but a report noted that no deadly weapon was used.

• July 12 at 4:27 p.m.: A woman found was found lying in the grass next to her vehicle at Riverview RV Park and Marina in Vermilion. Because she said she was assaulted at an Amherst park, Amherst officers were called to investigate. The woman was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center.

• July 12 at 10:51 p.m.: Ricky Carter, 53, of Lorain, was charged with disturbing the peace, attempted theft, and disorderly conduct by intoxication.

• July 13 at 3:45 p.m.: An illegal dumping complaint was filed by management at Mama Joe’s Pies. A 33-year-old Amherst man admitting to dumping his garbage in a dumpster at the building. No charges were filed.

• July 13 at 3:51 p.m.: A woman said Western Union withdrew $300 from her bank account rather than depositing it.

• July 13 at 4:45 p.m.: Robyn Shipman, 32, of Lorain, and Shirley Gosselin, 46, of Elyria, were charged with theft and possession of criminal tools. They are accused of stealing from Target.

• July 14 at 12:03 a.m.: Robert Riddlebarger, 26, of Sheffield Lake, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, state refusal, driving under suspension, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, open container, and reckless operation. Brittany Hartman, 26, of Cleveland, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

• July 14 at 1:36 p.m.: Nathan Wilcox, 37, of Avon, was served a no-bond bench warrant for failure to appear in court on a petty theft charge.

• July 14 at 6:14 p.m.: An 81-year-old Amherst woman rammed a fence in the parking lot of Hot Dog Heaven. Because she was also the at-fault party in a July 11 private property crash in Amherst, police forwarded a driver’s license retest notice to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

• July 14 at 9:32 p.m.: Kourtney Youngless, 38, of Amherst, was arrested on a contempt of court warrant for child support.

• July 15 at 12:57 a.m.: During a traffic stop, Andrew Scheibelhut, 18, of Avon Lake, was charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and weaving. A 16-year-old Vermilion boy was also cited with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia as well as curfew violation. Two other minors, both of Vermilion, were cited with curfew violations.

• July 15 at 3:34 p.m.: A woman said someone hacked into her walmart.com account and made $487 in purchases.

• July 16 at 9:08 a.m.: Dollar General management reported an attempted breaking and entering.

• July 17 at 8:38 p.m.: A dirtbike was reported stolen from North Ridge Road.

• July 18 at 11:25 p.m.: Anthony Ritz, 28, of Amherst, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A 17-year-old Wakeman boy was also cited with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

• July 19 at 2:34 a.m.: Brandon Cottrill, 29, of Henrietta, N.Y., was charged with two counts of assault, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace. Police made the arrest at Motel 6 while responding to a report of a fight in progress.

• July 20 at 12:50 a.m.: Chad Coleman, 41, of Sandusky, was arrested on a felony warrant through the Lorain police department. He was also charged with possession of cocaine, drug abuse instruments, and weaving.
