Amherst Schools staff and even teachers and students elsewhere in Lorain County took to Twitter on Friday in an outpouring of love and grief for Drew Hayden. Using the hashtags #Drew, #DrewHayden, and #CometPride, they posted photos taken in support of the Hayden family. The nine-year-old was a third-grader at Harris Elementary. He died Jan. 15 of wounds sustained days earlier in a sledding crash on Meadow Lakes Boulevard in North Ridgeville. Police say he slid into the road and was struck by driver Chris Nagel. Hayden was flown from Westlake to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where he died.
