Madison Eis of Amherst recently competed at the World Baton Twirling Association International Cup Championships held in Abbotsford, Canada.

She placed fourth in the two-baton Junior Elite division. There were 14 countries competing in the event. Her team, Intrepid, also placed third in the inaugural Grand Prix, which combined the largest two organizations of baton twirling in the world.

Eis also won the USTA National Strut Championships 18-year-old division this July in Texas. She placed second in two-baton division, third place in solo, second place in pairs, and Intrepid won the national team title.

Eis is the USTA Ohio state champion in strut, solo, dance twirl, two-baton, and pairs. She is a senior at Amherst Steele High School and a majorette with the band.
