Lady Falcons defeat Ridgeville in opener

The South Amherst Middle School seventh grade girls basketball team defeated North Ridgeville 17-11 in their opening game of the season. Scoring for the Lady Falcons were Brandi Holowecky and Taylor Young with 4, Gretchen Conibear with 3, and Mallory Muniga, Brittany Reising, and Alexis Bennett with 2 each.

The eighth grade team also defeated North Ridgeville 31-15. Scoring were Casey Morrissette with 12, Haleigh Bari with 6, Becky Myers with 4, Callie Stevens with 3, and Savannah Street, Alyssa Melendez and Summer Adkins with 2 each. The Lady Falcons travel to Rocky River on Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
