Troikes celebrate 50th anniversary
Tom and Lois (Chill) Troike, of Amherst celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at Beaver Creek Sportsman's Club. The couple married Sept. 20, 1958 at St. Mary's Church in Sandusky with Father Joseph H. Inkrott officiating.
Mr. Troike served with the Ohio National Guard (Army). He was employed as an electrician at Ohio Edison in Elyria for 36 years, retiring on March 1, 1996. His interests include computing, genealogy, amateur radio, collecting antique engines and tractors and snowbirding in Florida.
Mrs. Troike was employed as the fiscal manager for Girl Scouts of Erie Shores in Lorain for 14 years, retiring on Dec. 31, 2002. Her interests include painting, reading, card playing and snowbirding in Florida.
The couple have two children, Patricia (Richard G.) Shiltz of South Amherst, and David (Susan) Troike of South Amherst; and two grandchildren, Richard T. Shiltz and Rene Reilly.
Mr. and Mrs. Troike enjoyed a golden honeymoon trip to Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada, where they spent their original honeymoon. The trip was a gift from their children and grandchildren.
