Police Blotter for Feb. 24

Feb. 3, 10:57 p.m.: Officer Michael Murphy observed a silver Ford Focus ZX3 traveling the wrong way on Park Avenue from the five-points intersection.

The driver, identified as Emanuel Feier, was found to be driving under suspension and driving under the influence.

Feier was arrested and charged with driving under suspension, having a blood alcohol count more than the .08 percent state legal limit and a one-way street violation.

Feb. 4, 1 a.m.: Officer Jacob Perez performed a random registration check on a tan Honda Accord as it was stopped in the Taco Bell drive-through line, located at 940 N. Leavitt Rd.

The driver, identified as Yomar Adorno, had a suspended driver's license. After Adorno exited the line, Perez initiated a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Marathon Gas Station, 960 North Leavitt Road.

According to the police report, Adorno identified himself and advised the officer he was aware his driver's license was suspended and apologized. He was charged with driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Feb. 4, 11:04 p.m.: While on patrol in the parking lot of Motel 6, 704 N. Leavitt Rd., officer Jacob Perez conducted a random registration check on a white Buick in the parking lot.

He learned William Henderson had an active warrant for his arrest through the Sheffield Village Police Department for failure to pay fines on the original charges of driving under suspension and speeding.

After dispatch confirmed the warrant, Perez contacted the front desk clerk to see if Henderson was a guest at the motel. A check of their records indicated Henderson was staying in room 256.

Officers made contact with Henderson but became very nervous and reluctant to answer when Perez asked if he could enter his room because it was cold outside. It turned out he was sharing his room with a female, later identified as Shannon Kennelly.

After an investigation was completed, Henderson was arrested and charged with drug abuse-cocaine and drug abuse.

Kennelly was also placed in to handcuffs and charged with drug abuse-cocaine, drug abuse and tampering with evidence.

Feb. 5, 12:45 a.m.: Officer Devin Small performed a random registration check on a white Pontiac Grand Prix traveling southbound on Leavitt Road.

He learned the driver, Mario Mathis, had a suspended driver's license. Small initiated a traffic stop on the eastbound entrance ramp to Rt. 2 from Leavitt Rd.

Mathis was placed in handcuffs and charged with driving under suspension and disorderly conduct persisting. He was advised of his court date before his girlfriend picked him up at the scene.

Feb. 7, 9:27 p.m.: Officer Josh McCoy conducted a traffic stop on Leavitt Road for a marked lanes violation.

The driver, identified as Jesse Santiago, was found to be in possession of marijuana. McCoy then cited and released him at the scene pending a court appearance.

Feb. 7, 10:15 p.m.: Officer Michael Taliano responded to Quaker Steak and Lube in Sheffield Lake to take control of Taylor Kopp form the Avon Lake Police Department.

He had an active bench warrant through the Amherst Police Department for failure to comply on an original charge of underage consumption and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Kopp was given a new court date before being transported to the Lorain County Jail.

Feb. 8, 12:05 a.m.: Officer Devin Small observed a white Audi Quattro traveling northbound on Linn Drive at what appeared to be a high rate of speed.

A tracking history was obtained with the aid of an audible pitch signal. The officer clocked the driver, identified as Gavin Simpson, traveling at 41 mph in a 25 mph zone.

The officer turned around and followed Simpson as he turned right on to Cooper Foster Park Road. Small activated his overhead lights and was able to successfully initiate a traffic stop near Ashwood Avenue.

Simpson was arrested and charged with speeding, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, state refusal, possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine.

He posted a $4,800 bond.

Feb. 8, 7:47 p.m.: Officer Josh McCoy initiated a traffic stop on Rt. 2 eastbound near the Leavitt Road exit ramp.

The driver, identified as Scott Kirkwood, was found to have an active warrant through the Vermilion Police Department for passing bad checks with a $1,000 bond.

Once dispatch confirmed the warrant, Kirkwood was arrested without incident and later transported to the intersection of Baumhart and Cooper Foster Park roads to meet with an awaiting police officer from Vermilion.

Feb. 9, 4:18 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a home on Middle Ridge Road in reference to a disturbance there.

The caller advised Tracy Perchinsky was not supposed to have any contact with the homeowner after recently being released from prison.

Upon arrival, officers searched the area and located Perchinsky inside a home on Elyria Avenue. After further investigation, she confessed to being at the Middle Ridge Road residence and was found to be heavily intoxicated.

Perchinsky was arrested and charged with menacing by stalking, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct while intoxicated and disturbing the peace.

Feb. 11, 1:23 a.m.: Officers Michael Murphy and Devin Small were dispatched to a residence on North Main Street regarding a loud noise complaint. The caller told dispatch there was yelling and loud music coming from inside the residence at the same time.

As Murphy approached the front door, he could hear people inside yelling and talking loudly, however, there was no music playing. About two minutes later, the music started up and the officer was able to hear the music and bass reverberation coming from the house.

Murphy knocked loudly on the front door. When no one came to the door, the officer knocked loudly two more times before Anthony Moreno came to the door. Murphy responded to Moreno's residence the previous night for the same complaint.

According to the police report, Moreno stated he and his friend were listening to some music before going to sleep.

The officer cited Moreno for unnecessary noise.
