Sports scoreboard for March 10

MATTHEW SCHULTZ of Portman Road, is a pitcher for the Ashland University baseball team. He is majoring in chemistry.

The Ashland University baseball team is ranked 13th in the 2012 Ping! NCAA Division II preseason rankings for this upcoming season. Last year, they won the GLIAC regular season championship with a record of 26-5-1 and were 42-15-1 overall. The Eagles were the #1 seed at the 2009 Regionals and will be returning 18 letter winners. This will be John Schaly's 13th year as head coach at AU. The Eagles will play in Winter Haven, Fla., in the Russ Matt Invitational during spring break (March 5-13). Their first home game at Donges Field is March 17 against Hillsdale College.
