What's in a picture? A thriving community
The Amherst Public Library is celebrating this year's National Library Week with the theme "Communities Thrive at Your Library" during the week of April 11-17. As part of the celebration the library is hosting a community photography show.
Residents are invited to bring in a photograph -- minimum size is 5"x7" -- showing what Amherst means to them.
It could be a photo of a landscape around town, a club or baseball team, or the photographer's own idea of what "community" is as seen through a camera lens.
All those entering a photograph will be entered into a drawing for a Target gift card. The community is invited to view the show during regular library hours that week and photos will also be displayed online and become part of a book that will be entered into the library's permanent collection.
Bring photographs to the library by April 10 to be included in the display. For more information, pick up a registration form at the library or call 988-4230. Information may also be viewed on the library's web site at www.amherst.lib.oh.us.
